Angel Di Maria's goal in the first half was enough for Lionel Scaloni's team to secure the win against Tite's Brazil who struggled to be decisive in front of the goal throughout the tournament (Brazil had 13 shots but only two were on target) and lacked consistency in defense. Still, all credit goes to the Argentinians who displayed a masterclass team performance: efforts from Nicolas Otamendi, German Pezzella, and Cristian Romero were exceptional in holding Brazil scoreless; Di Maria and Rodrigo de Paul dominated the midfield; and Messi generated threatening passes and attacking opportunities.
