"Inequitable", "Surely Mistaken" and "Ridiculous". The whole world, especially the Italian sports newspapers, were talking about Ronaldo's early exit during the match against Valencia and criticizing the officials for making the decision that Cristiano Ronlado deserved a red card. Yet, are the condemnation created from the public genuinely correct?

After full time, Juventus' coach Massimiliano Allegri confidently stated that Rondaldo wouldn't have received the red card if VAR had been use. UEFA still hasn't approved the VAR system although UEFA is Europe's top club competition. During the press conference, Allegri told the public, "The VAR would certainly have helped the referee make the correct decision". Additionally, Juventus' midfielder, Emre Can, intentionally said "That's supposed to be a red? We're not women, we're playing football" which stirred up controversies and conflicts.
Numerous individuals thought it was a very decision to make from what they saw. Especially, if you saw the action or video replays from a far distance, it appeared that the Portuguese forward did nothing more than run his over Murillo's head after the defender fell on the floor.
Nonetheless, as a closer video of the situation was revealed it became obvious that Ronaldo was attempting to grab the defender by his hair and use his fingernails. Although not much harm was done to Murillo, how would grabbing a player's head and attempting violent actions on the pitch be acceptable?

It is true that that the laws of the game states that "a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."
To be completely honest, I strongly believe that for the benefit of UEFA's future aims and ambitions, the right decision of dismissing Ronaldo was sensible. The problem is not a question of whether Murillo was hurt, yet of what image the football association wants to deliver to the world.
Would Europe's prominent football body want the type of brutal and violent behavior seen on the pitch? Would they accept the kind of actions? Do they want their competition to be known as a low-quality tournament? I respect Cristiano Ronaldo's talent on the football pitch and never hated him for what he has done. Nonetheless, the actions of Ronaldo against Valencia was pure aggression and a sign of brutal violence.
Through the red card consequence, I hope Ronaldo can understand the decision made and learn from this episode rather than constantly disagreeing and calling the officials unfair.
