Reinvigorated after his arrival to previous club Everton, Wayne Rooney has decided to put an end to his international career with England.

The 31-year-old striker, who marked his 200th Premier League goal on Monday in the 1-1 draw against Manchester City, has scored in both of Everton's league games formulating an encouraging start to the season.
"Leaving Manchester United behind was a difficult decision but I know I have made the correct choice to come here" stated Rooney, who netted 53 goals in 119 games for Britain. "Now I want to concentrate all my energy on helping Everton be victorious." Gary Lineker, a former England international player, described Rooney as "one of England's top 10 ever" footballers. Nevertheless, it is a fact that England has historically descended at the international level - the nation last grasped on the World Cup in 1966 - and Rooney was unable to make a transition. "One of my greatest regrets is not being able to be part of a prosperous England tournament side," said Rooney. Rooney developed worldwide distinction when he grasped on his major competition debut as a youngster at Euro 2004, though he fractured a bone in his foot in the quarterfinal stages against Portugal.
Disregarding his regrets and a few failures in his international stage, I firmly believe that Wayne Rooney has covered a large portion of the history books of football. His journey in Manchester United was extraordinary. It is only right, careless of the team we support, that we congratulate Rooney for his work.
