It was definitely worth it.

Tottenham Hotspur’s $1.3 billion luxurious home stadium has finally opened by hosting Premier League team Crystal Palace. For all the fans that night, the experience was made even better, as Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen netted two astonishing goals.

Son Heung-Min, the South Korean striker, stated after the game, "It's just amazing. What an unbelievable stadium. To score the first goal at this stadium ... I am so grateful and thankful to the fans and the players."

Originally planned to open at the start of the 2018/19 Premier League season, the 62,026-seat venue had encountered problems regarding safety systems limiting the squad to resume playing their matches at its temporary home stadium.

It is true to a large extent that Tottenham's spiritual and valuable home, White Hart Lane, has now been left behind. Nevertheless, Tottenham's new stadium may well have revolutionized the sport across the whole of Europe.

The newly constructed arena is England's first entirely cashless sports venue, while the two screens located inside the stadium are the largest in western Europe. The ground also boasts the United Kingdom's full-grown single-tier stand, holding up to approximately 17,500 people.

For Tottenham supporters, this day has been one they have been fantasising of for such a long period of time. Wembley may be the home of English football, but it was never the home for those who live and breathe Tottenham. The disappointment over the postponements in the club moving back to north London has been manifest. As weeks turned into months, fans started to protest with their feet by not attending games in order to deliver the disaffection and aversion towards Wembley stadium.

Luckily, that is no longer a predicament. Tottenham is finally back home, and it's not just an ordinary home, it's one of the most remarkable homes in European football.
