Game Day Diary

Back to School after the Match against The Pennington School

Basic Information of Day:

- Date of Match: September 12th, 2019 (Thursday)

- Played Holding Center Midfielder

- Played against The Pennington School (Away)

- Final Score: 0-0 Draw

Positive Points about Today's Game:

- Created multiple chances in front of the opposition goal

- Was able to play the ball to the wingers during counter attacks

- Moved into space for the goalkeeper to play the ball into control

- Took multiple shots on target

- Winning the ball during aerial duels

- Good communication with the defensive line to make sure through-balls and one-two passes are denied

Negative Points about Today's Game:

- Weather let the whole team down during the second half. Due to the rain, the speed of our plays were delayed and puddles of rain messed up our possession

- As a holding center midfielder, focused too much on holding back rather than playing an attacking role

- Being loose during one-to-one defending / Gave too much room

Main lesson learnt for future games:

Just because you have a position doesn't mean you're married to it!

- Coach Wilcox
